How do I connect to Wi-Fi?
Connect to the Wi-Fi network named "FRITZ!Box 7430 XX".
Your password is the 20-digit 'WLAN Network Key' on the sticker on the underside of your modem.

Note: Your Wi-Fi password is NOT the "FRITZ!Box" password.

Why isn't my modem turning on?
Make sure that your electricity meter is in a positive balance. If so, check that the power cable is pushed correctly into the back of the modem and that the electricity plug socket is switched on.
Who should I contact if I think I have a fault with my connection?
Once your broadband service has switched over to us, contact out tech support team to troubleshoot any issues.

How do I check my Internet speed?
  1. Connect a laptop or PC to your modem using an Ethernet cable.
  2. Test your speed values by running tests on speedtest.net or fast.com
How do I change my network name?
To change your network name on the Fritz 7430, follow these steps:
  1. Connect a laptop via a Ethernet cable to any of the LAN ports at the back on the FritzBox.
  2. Open a fresh browser page.
  3. Go to the URL bar at the top of the webpage and enter the following http://fritz.box or the IP address – 192.168.178.1.
  4. This will bring you to the interface page.
  5. Click on wireless, this will show a dropdown menu and then Click on Radio Network.
  6. Under Radio Network, You will see 'Name of the wireless…'
  7. Delete the network details and enter a new radio network name.
  8. Hit Apply.
The new network name should be in place.
How do I change my wireless password key?
To change your wireless security key on the Fritz 7430, follow these steps:
  1. Connect a laptop via a Ethernet cable to any of the LAN ports at the back on the FritzBox.
  2. Open a fresh browser page. 
  3. Go to the URL bar at the top of the webpage and enter the following http://fritz.box or the IP address – 192.168.178.1. This will bring you to the interface page.
  4. Click on 'Wireless' and select 'Security' from the drop-down menu. 
  5. Under the Encryption tab, you will see 'Network Ke'
  6. Delete the security key and enter a new 'Network Key'.
  7. Hit Apply. 
The new security key should be in place. Check this on a mobile device.
How much do I pay for broadband?

PrepayBroadband is charged via a Daily Standing Charge at the following rate: 

€1.43 Ex. VAT 

€1.74 Inc. VAT

 

Have my electricity costs changed?

No, there is no change to your electricity rates. Your PrePayBroadband service does not affect what you pay for your electricity.

Remember, you may need to top up a bit more, or more often, to cover your new service.
