With 300 employees and growing, we are looking for an ambitious fully qualified accountant to join our busy finance team on a twelve-month contract to cover maternity leave. The candidate must have a very strong analytical background and be able to demonstrate experience of interpreting and analysing large volumes of data.
Candidate will be the “go-to person” on the team for building and maintaining complicated financial models and overseeing the monthly variance analysis commentary.

Your New Role Responsibilities:
· Ownership of annual budgets and forecasting models (including cashflow forecasting)
· Ownership and continuous validation of energy accrual process
· Ownership of reporting and accounting for the new Broadband service launched in 2019
· Responsible for accounting for the speculative trading teams’ activities and being the financial representative to the trading teams
· Gross margin variance analysis
· Assist team with month end close off to strict deadlines
· Deliver a comprehensive review of monthly business performance the CEO, COO and CFO
· Assisting with returns for banking covenant compliance, which includes consolidation accounting
· Assist with improving efficiencies within the finance function
· Developing reports to improve turnaround time of deliverables
· Work with the business to identify and understand their financial management information needs
· Ad hoc projects
Essential Experience & Skills to Succeed:
· Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA), with minimum 3+ years relevant PQE in the area of financial planning and analysis.
· Strong background in financial / data analysis involving different scenarios and how they may impact financial results going forward.
· Prior experience of being involved in the end to end process of preparing budgets and forecasting activities.
· Excellent knowledge of Excel essential.
· SAGE 200 experience desired but not essential.
· Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
· Team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
· Energetic, with a high level of initiative, along with the ability to prioritise workload and aptitude for hard work.
· Ability to work independently and call on support as required.
· Open, flexible, and willing to undergo change and process improvements.
· Experience in the utilities sector an advantage but not essential.
· Tableau and SQL knowledge desired but not essential.
